In this video we introduce the series. Over the next nine videos we install VS Code and Elements, build an app with an AI agent, deploy the app to the internet, look around the project environment and the `elements` command, tour the Elements website, and explain how the Elements business works. ## What the series covers 1. **Install VS Code.** The free, open-source editor from Microsoft, with an AI chat built in. 2. **Install Elements.** Create an account at [elements.dev/install](https://elements.dev/install) and run the install script. 3. **Create your first app.** Make a project, start it, and ask the agent to build a todos app. 4. **Set up a deployment environment.** A DigitalOcean droplet and a managed Postgres cluster. 5. **Deploy your app.** Paste the connection details into the agent and watch the first deploy go live. 6. **The project environment.** Where projects live, how to reopen one, and working from the terminal. 7. **The Elements tooling.** The `elements` command: the manual, build, install, db, test and kill. 8. **The Elements website and community.** Demos, Learn, Discuss, issues and your profile. 9. **The Elements business.** Where Elements came from and how it gets paid. ## What you need - A Mac or a Windows computer. - A GitHub account for the AI chat in VS Code. You can create one during sign in. - A DigitalOcean account for the deployment videos.
Hey guys, I'm Chris and I'm the creator of Elements. I'm so happy that you're here. In this series, you're going to get set up with installing Elements, installing an editor called Visual Studio Code, and then we're going to build an application and deploy it to the internet. I'll also show you a little bit around the project environment and talk about the Elements business. So let's get started.
