About Elements
Elements is the integrated app environment for building and deploying web apps. It is a project server that runs while you work, build tooling, a default framework that just works, and deployment, engineered together as one coherent system for people and their agents.
Overview
You bring the agent. Elements brings the project server, build tooling, app framework and deployment, built from the ground up to work together. The result is correct code the first time, and still correct a hundred agent sessions later.
The project server runs while you work. It holds the build state in memory, so the build has already run by the time you or your agent asks: type checking, program analysis, migrations and tests. You, your editor and an AI agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor get the same answer in microseconds.
The default framework just works. Your app is standard HTML, TypeScript, SQL and CSS, with realtime, sessions and authentication, jobs and email built in, and a Postgres database Elements installs for you.
Deploy to any Ubuntu server you reach over SSH, with a load balancer and TLS certificates on every machine. One machine runs a complete app. To grow, add machines to the config and deploy. Point them at one shared Postgres database and Elements does the rest: realtime, sessions, jobs and every other feature work across all of them with no changes to your app.
Elements is an AI tooling company. It builds the environment people and their agents build in.
Licensing
Elements charges for the tooling, not the framework. The tooling is the project server, the build, the test and job runners, and deploy, licensed per machine under the license agreement.
The app framework and runtime packages your app imports, @elements/app and @elements/style, are MIT licensed. A built app runs on plain Node.js, on servers you choose, with your data in your own Postgres database. Everything you build is yours.
Pricing
Elements is $100 per month. Your first purchase covers two machines, one for development and one for deploy, and each additional machine is $100 per month. The price is predictable per month, not based on usage or other metered variables.
Every install starts with a 14-day trial, with no credit card and no signup.

Chris Mather began designing Elements in 2012. The first production version was built and battle tested in 2017, at Lively HSA, a health savings account company, under HIPAA and hundreds of millions of dollars of financial transactions.
Elements became its own company in 2019 and raised a seed round in 2020, followed by six years of quiet, deliberate work.
