# Going Live

The owner, at dashboard.stripe.com, with live mode on:

1. Activate the account for live payments: business details and a bank
   account.
2. Developers, API keys: copy the live secret key (`sk_live_...`).

The owner puts it in `config/env/production.env`, which is gitignored:

```

Then `elements deploy` (`elements man deploy`), and open
`https://<domain>/admin/payments` once. The page connects with the live key,
shows the Live badge, and registers the production webhook itself. There are
no prices to recreate in live mode; they come from the app.

Sandbox and live never mix: a sandbox key cannot see live payments, and the
`payments` rows from development stay in the development database.
